Yesterday was lower mileage but still lot of driving. Went from Medford Oregon to Eureka California. The coastal redwoods are in this path. Traveling down US 101 on the coast.
The redwoods are as impressive as I expected. Took about 200 pictures (yes I am in some). Took back road thru them to start and it was on old stagecoach route and dirt and most of way one lane (they need to make 1 way). Trees right by road. Great views. I did two 1 mile hikes to some beauties.
Coast is pretty. different than east with cliffs and rocks out in water but great views. Most of area is marked as tsunami zones.
We stopped at casino in Crescent City and it was very plain. I played a dollar in 5 cent slots and only lost 50 cents. Crescent City had a pretty coast and beautiful lighthouse
